Description
The Kenwood KFC-PS6987 is a high-performance 6" x 9" 4-way coaxial car speaker system designed to deliver powerful, high-clarity sound as an upgrade over factory setups. Part of Kenwood's Performance Standard Series, this model relies on multi-driver acoustic tech and efficient thermal management to ensure clean audio reproduction even at loud volumes.
Key Technical Specifications
- Power Output: 140W RMS power handling and 670W Peak Input Power.
- Driver Layout: A 4-way multi-speaker array featuring a rugged woofer paired with three dedicated tweeters for well-separated low, mid, and high frequencies.
- Woofer Diaphragm: Built from black polypropylene with a specialized Diamond Array Pattern to add cone stiffness, minimizing unwanted distortion.
- Fit Profile: Designed with a low-height tweeter clearance to facilitate a clean Factory Location Fit in shallower spaces.
Integrated Audio Technologies
- Acoustic Sound Harmonizer: Controls woofer sound waves to block overlapping interference, creating a smoother transition into the tweeter frequencies.
- Sound Field Enhancer: Tweeter housing geometry designed to broaden the high-frequency sound field (5kHz and above) for wider cabin coverage.
- Enhanced Heat Dissipation: Utilizes a black-painted yoke and plate to shed heat quickly, dropping voice coil temperatures for long-term power durability.
