Amp Wiring Kits

(12 products)

Our wiring kits for car amplifiers range from 8 gauge up to 1/0 gauge, and each is a complete kit rather than just a power cable, with prices starting from £29.99. Whether you need a sub wiring kit for a single subwoofer, a car amp wiring kit for a 4-channel speaker amp, or a twin-amp kit for a bigger build, there's a gauge that fits your system.

We stock Kicker, Phoenix Gold, Stinger, and Juice, and orders over £50 qualify for free UK mainland delivery. Use the filters below to narrow by brand or gauge, then add your kit to the cart.

Your amplifier's power draw determines the wiring gauge you need, from 8 gauge up to 1/0 gauge for high-power systems.

8 Gauge Amp Wiring Kits

8 gauge kits suit smaller single-amplifier setups and modest subwoofer installations. The Juice JWTRU81 is rated up to 60A and is a common choice for active subwoofers and small amp upgrades. If you want a little more headroom, the Kicker 47VK6 steps up to 6 gauge OFC cable with an 80A fuse.

4 Gauge Amp Wiring Kits

A 4 gauge amp wiring kit handles higher-current amplifier and subwoofer installations, including single-amplifier setups with more demanding power draw. A dual-amplifier system may need a heavier gauge still, so check your combined current draw before choosing.

2 Gauge Amp Wiring Kits

2 gauge kits are built for higher-current amplifier and subwoofer systems. Options vary by conductor material: the Phoenix Gold ZRK35 uses oxygen-free copper, while the lower-priced ZXK35 uses copper-clad aluminium, which carries less current than copper at the same size.

1/0 Gauge Amp Wiring Kits

1/0 gauge kits suit high-power and multiple-amplifier installations. At this level, selecting the correct power cable, ground cable and fuse rating matters, since undersized components can limit performance or create a safety risk under heavy load. The Stinger SSK0 comes with a 150A ANL fuse, while the Phoenix Gold ZXK50 and ZRK50 are rated for systems up to 2,500W and 2,700W.

Why Choose an Amp Wiring Kit?

A wiring kit affects more than convenience. It determines how much power actually reaches your amplifier.

Full Power Reaching the Amplifier

The correct cable size helps deliver enough current to your amplifier without excessive voltage drop, keeping performance reliable even under heavy load. An undersized cable reduces power output and can affect sound quality when the system works hardest.

Oxygen Free Copper vs Copper Clad Aluminium

Oxygen-free copper (OFC) generally offers better current-carrying capacity than copper-clad aluminium (CCA) at the same gauge. In our range, the Kicker 47VK6 and Phoenix Gold ZRK35 and ZRK50 use oxygen-free copper, while the Phoenix Gold ZXK35, ZXK50 and Stinger SSK0 use CCA. It also pays to check the gauge is genuine: Juice TRU kits are sized before insulation, whereas many budget cables quote a gauge that includes it.

Fusing That Protects the Cable Run

An inline fuse protects your power cable from damage if a fault occurs. It should be correctly matched to the cable and fitted within 18 inches (about 45cm) of the battery's positive terminal, and every complete kit here includes a fuse holder and fuse as standard.

Everything Needed in One Kit

A complete amp wiring kit saves you sourcing parts separately. Most include power and ground cable with ring terminal ends, a fuse holder and fuse, a remote turn-on lead that connects to your head unit, RCA interconnects, and speaker cable where applicable.

FAQs about Amp Wiring Kits

What is the best car amp wiring kit?

The best amp wiring kit is the one matched to your amplifier's power draw and gauge requirement, not a specific brand. Check your amp's RMS power and recommended gauge, then choose a kit built to that spec. Where two kits share a gauge, oxygen-free copper and a genuine-gauge conductor are the upgrades worth paying for.

What size amp wiring kit do I need?

The gauge you need depends on your amplifier's power output, because higher-powered amps draw more current and need a thicker cable. Check your amplifier's specification sheet for its recommended wiring gauge, or compare power ratings across our car amplifiers before choosing a kit.

Do I need a different wiring kit for a subwoofer?

Not necessarily. The gauge depends on the amplifier powering your subwoofer, not the subwoofer itself, so a subwoofer wiring kit is usually the same product as an amp wiring kit. If you're pairing a monoblock amplifier with one or two car subwoofers, size the kit to the amplifier's current draw.
